Miley Cyrus admits drug use cost her major career opportunity

Miley opened up about her past dabbling

It won't come as a shock to many people that Miley Cyrus has experimented with drugs, given her well-documented party girl days.

However, the star has issued a warning, confessing that her drug use damaged her career.

The 'Flowers' singer, who is currently celebrating her new engagement, has opened up about the risks involved with narcotics.

Miley made the confession while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and revealed she lost out on a lot of money because of it.

A former Disney child star, she was talking to Kimmel about her career and reputation, and how many of her antics were frowned upon.

Kimmel joked about himself, saying of his behaviour and controversies that: “I will never be a Disney legend. No one has cost this company more money,” after he was suspended.

Miley offered her support when he talked about his suspension, and pointed out that Disney had welcomed him back at least.

She then explained about how a very expensive Walmart deal disappeared before her eyes as a teenager after she was caught smoking weed.

"I smoked a joint when I had a Walmart deal, and I thought they would come crawling back, but they never did," she confessed, saying that Kimmel at least got to reunite with Disney after his comments about Charlie Kirk caused conflict.

She previously told Variety in an interview: “I had a clothing line at Walmart and got kicked out, because they said you had to choose weed or Walmart, and you see what I did – I chose weed.”

A video of her smoking from a bong had been leaked online.

She tweeted that she has 'nothing to hide' following her split from Liam Hemsworth, writing: "It is no secret that I was into partying in my teens and early 20's. I have not only smoked, but advocated for weed, I've experimented with drugs, my biggest song to date is about dancing on molly and snorting lines in the bathroom.

"I lost a massive Walmart deal at 17 for ripping a bong," she added.

"I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating," she insisted.

Fortunately, Miley's success has continued, and she has gone on to find further happiness in the wake of her divorce.

TMZ published the video of Miley smoking shortly after her 18th birthday, according to Business Insider.
