Miley Cyrus has blunt response to Joe Rogan after he insults friend's performances

The 'Flowers' singer was defending a former America's Got Talent contestant during the podcast recording

A viral clip of Miley Cyrus ‘roasting’ podcaster Joe Rogan has been doing the rounds on social media again.

It comes amid the ‘Flowers’ singer seemingly setting the record straight on her recent ‘dismissive’ record store appearance.

Back in 2020, 32-year-old Cyrus made her debut on the beloved The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

The pair discussed everything from sobriety to model Kate Moss, with talk eventually turning to reality TV series, RuPaul’s Drag Race.

The ‘Midnight Sky’ hitmaker told Rogan, 57, that she watched the programme ‘every day’ and that she knew ‘every single one’ of the TV show’s contestants.

However, that didn’t stop the New Jersey native from having a pop at series seven contestant, Kennedy Davenport, 44.

After watching Davenport - real name Reuben Asberry Jr - perform, Rogan criticised a classic drag dance move known as a ‘death drop’.

"They all do the same move," he complained. "They drop down and do the splits."

Jumping instantly to Davenport’s defence, Cyrus retorted: "That's what I think when I'm watching your show too - all the same stuff."

The blunt response warranted a giggle out of Rogan, who said during the same chat that he’d ‘probably have to start watching’ RuPaul’s Drag Race after hearing Cyrus’ enthusiasm for the show.

The Hannah Montana actor’s legendary response has recently sparked conversation again, with one fan writing: "Even Joe couldn't help but laugh on that one."

A second typed: "Savage comeback from Miley - total mic drop moment."

Someone else commented: "One of the best burns of all time."

A fourth said: "That came so naturally for Miley well done."

The resurfaced clip comes just days after Cyrus allegedly found herself in hot water after putting on a fan event for her followers.

On June 21, the three-time Grammy Award-winner was giving away copies of her new single with supermodel Naomi Campbell, 55, at London-based record store, Rough Trade East.

The pair, whose track ‘Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved’ is set for a 11 July drop, have come under criticism for allegedly ‘ignoring’ fans - with clips from the event circulating social media.

BuzzFeed reports that one video, taken from Campbell’s Instagram Live Stream, showed Cyrus posing with a fan for a photograph without exchanging a single word with them.

This strange moment has prompted various Reddit users to describe the Tennessee native as ‘inconsiderate and rude’, with another typing: "I’d be so disappointed if I waited in line for someone I was excited for just to be straight up dismissed and ignored."

Appearing to break her silence on the situation, Cyrus posted a photograph of herself and Campbell at the event and wrote: "Our vinyl was originally set to drop a week later, but since we were both in London @roughtradeeast made it happen day of.

"I wanted to gift my Smilers an exclusive experience & unreleased vinyl to thank you for the love you’ve shown me in the UK over the years."

The former Disney icon wrote that the record store itself requested that ‘no photos’ were to be taken during the event, which may explain the fan interaction Cyrus had.

"Thank you @vijatm for snapping those in the moment shots," she added in defiance. "To everyone who came out to celebrate our single, we love you."

Cyrus’ ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, was released on 30 May, 2025, and was accompanied by a musical film of the same name on 6 June.

The album’s lead single, ‘End of the World’, was released before the record on 3 April. ‘Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved’ set for release next month.
