A resurfaced TikTok clip has shown that Lizzo made a vulnerable admission during her weight loss journey, before the singer shared how she used Ozempic at the beginning of her incredible transformation.
The 37-year-old hitmaker has been candid about the workouts and lifestyle changes that helped her lose weight over the years, including weight training and calorie deficits.
And during Thursday’s (19 June) episode of Trisha Paytas’ podcast Just Trish, she explained how she briefly tried the drug, which was originally created to help people with type 2 diabetes.

However, it’s important to note that she doesn’t credit Ozempic at all for her transformation - she simply tried it out but later decided to focus on counting calories instead of taking the weekly jab.
Explaining why, Lizzo said on the podcast: "I tried everything. Ozempic works because you eat less food, yeah? So if you eat right, it makes you feel full.

“But if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it's the same thing."

She continued: "It’s just the science for me, calories in versus calories out.
"Ozempic works because you eat less food. That’s it. It makes you feel full, so if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it’s the same s**t."
And now, as fans are looking back on Lizzo’s journey, a TikTok clip from 2024 has resurfaced of the star explaining how she sometimes would be too hard on herself for what she called ‘over-eating,’ when really, her body just ‘needed that nourishment’.
She wrote over the top of the video: “I overate yesterday and I’m feeling really bad about it.”

The singer added: “I’m trying to remind myself that my body needed that nourishment. And if my body deserves comfort then my brain deserves comfort too."
Hear, hear Lizzo.

Reminding her followers of the importance of always being kind to yourself, she penned in the caption: “If you’re going through this ur not alone."

Agreeing in the comments, fans wrote: “Girl, we really are our harshest critics” and “I know this journey. Changing our relationship with food is colossal. It has helped me learn to be unconditional with myself.”
A third added: “Wait… you go through this too? Really needed to see this, thank you Lizzo this means so much.”
“Girl being kind fair and graceful with yourself is just as hard as sticking to a routine sometimes it’s all good sis WE got this,” penned another fan.
