Kim Kardashian shared a New Year’s message with her followers and people were quick to notice a reference to her ex-husband, Kanye West.
On New Year’s Day, the Skims founder shared a post to her Instagram Stories to celebrate 2025.
The post she re-shared on her Story was originally posted in 2012, the same year she started dating the rapper now known as Ye. The caption reads: “Sunglasses & Advil… last night was mad trill.”
And the picture shows exactly that — Cuban link sunglasses and Advil, which is sold as Ibuprofen in the UK. The post has more than 100,000 likes, including the late fashion designer Virgil Abloh.

Back in 2012, Kardashian was quoting the opening track, ‘No Church in the Wild’, from West’s collaborative 2011 album with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne.
West raps: “Sunglasses and Advil / Last night was mad real / Sun coming up, 5 a.m. / I wonder if they got cabs still.”
The reality TV star spent the festive season with family, as she shared photos of her four children: North West, 11, Saint West, nine, Chicago West, six, and Psalm West, five.
The re-shared post comes as West celebrated 2025 by sharing pictures of his wife, Bianca Censori.
The couple tied the knot in December 2022 but have been quite private about their romance ever since.
Even though they’re often pictured out and about, including a shopping trip in Tokyo in October last year amid breakup rumours, West rarely provides any insight into their relationship.
In the photos posted by the ‘Bound 2’ rapper on January 2, West can be seen taking pictures in what appears to be a bathroom mirror while wearing a black T-shirt, black trousers, black shoes, and lots of chain necklaces.
Censori also wears black clothes, including a sheer black tank top, and a black silk skirt which she paired with flip flops. The musician also posted images of Censori wearing a sheer tank top and leopard-print fishnet tights.
But in an awkward twist, some fans initially assumed Censori was West’s ex, Kim Kardashian.
Kardashian, who filed for divorce from Ye in February 2021, has since spoken out about some of the events which led up to her deciding to leave her third marriage.
They began dating in 2012, before she gave birth to the pair's first child a year later, and the pair then wed the year after that in May 2014.
The celebrity duo's eight-year marriage officially ended in March 2022 when a settlement was reached, finalising the terms of the divorce, including child support payments from West to Kardashian.
Neither West or Kardashian publicly addressed the divorce after she first filed for the separation in 2021.
