Kim Kardashian has spoken out about some of the reasons which led her to file for a divorce from Kanye West.

Ironically, it can be quite hard to keep up with the Kardashians - they're in the headlines so much of the time and there's always such a whirlwind of drama.

However, one piece of news you won't have missed unless you've been living under an actual rock is model turned businesswoman Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West - now known as Ye - getting divorced.

Kim - who filed for divorce from Ye in February 2021 - has since spoken out about some of the events which led up to her deciding to leave her third marriage.

Ye and Kim first began dating in 2012, before she gave birth to the pair's first child - North - a year later and the pair then wed the year after that in May 2014.

The celebrity duo's eight-year marriage officially ended in March 2022 when a settlement was reached, finalising the terms of the divorce, including child support payments from Ye to Kim.

Neither Ye or Kim publicly addressed the divorce after she first filed for the separation in 2021. However, earlier this year, Ye hit out at Kim on social media, as well as her family and her boyfriend at the time, Pete Davidson.

Now, Kim is having her say, revealing the build-up to her filing for divorce in a recent episode of The Kardashians.

In a conversation with momager Kris Jenner, Kim explains she doesn't 'want to be part of this narrative' Ye is creating, questioning: "When is this ever gonna end?"

"Like it never will and I’m stuck with this for the rest of my life," she adds.

Despite Kris' best efforts to reassure Kim that Ye is 'doing this to himself,' the mum-of-four notes its affecting the children too and so she feels like she shouldn't 'talk about it' to 'protect' them.

"But like God, if people knew... I just would never do that to my kids. It just is really crazy," she says. " [...] I am the one being accused for so many things and blamed for so many things and it’s really really hurtful and it sucks, but I can control how I react and if I’m a mess, my kids will see that. [Hopefully one day they] will appreciate my silence, my understanding and my grace."

Kim claims she used to 'spend hours and hours and hours of [her] days as the clean-up crew' running 'around and call[ing] everyone behind his [Ye's] back' to say: "It's gonna be OK, don't worry, just give him another chance."

She also explains she 'doesn't have the energy anymore' and so resolves: "[If Ye hits] rock bottom, that's his journey that he needs to figure out on his own."

However, the reality star can't help but note: "It’s the hardest feeling, to watch someone you really loved and you have a family with, just be so different than who you knew."
