Prince George and Princess Charlotte make Wimbledon appearance with parents but royal fans have one complaint

Prince William and Kate Middleton's eldest children attended the Wimbledon men's singles final alongside their parents on Sunday (13 July)

Prince George and Princess Charlotte appeared to enjoy watching the men’s singles final at Wimbledon from the Royal Box alongside their parents on Sunday (13 July) - but royal family fans have one small complaint.

This year, Wimbledon kicked off on 30 June and brought a whole host of sporting action, celebrity appearances, and viral moments, which all led up to the Championships final weekend.

The nail-biting event on Sunday saw Jannik Sinner take home the first-place trophy in the tournament, after triumphing over reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz.

And Kate Middleton, Prince William and their two eldest children watched all of the action unfold from the prestigious invite-only Royal Box.

The Princess of Wales, 43, is almost as synonymous with the competition as strawberries and cream and the all-white dress code.

A huge fan of tennis, she makes the time in her busy calendar to watch the action and is usually at Championship Weekend to see the dramatic men's and women's finals.

Kate is also a patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, which means she gets the very important job of handing out the trophies to the winners and runners-up of the prestigious tournament.

And this year, fans of the royals were delighted to see the Princess at the tournament with her husband and two of her children.

Kensington Palace had announced ahead of their arrival that the Prince and Princess of Wales would attend, but it was a complete surprise that they brought George and Charlotte along.

However, some couldn’t help but notice the absence of one member of their family - seven-year-old Prince Louis, Kate and William’s youngest.

Despite his young age, Louis has already attended some pretty high profile events, including including the late Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022 and King Charles' coronation in May 2023.

And as fans of the family will know, the little one often catches attention with his playful antics, including pulling faces on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

So, it’s understandable that people on social media were sad to realise he wouldn’t be attending this event with his older siblings.

The Prince and Princess of Wales commemorated the day with an Instagram Reel of their favourite moments, shortly after Wimbledon ended.

They wrote in the caption: “What a final! An amazing performance from both players. Well done @janniksin on your first @wimbledon Championship!”

In the comments, one user penned: “Absolutely incredible to see our beautiful family today! Hopefully with Lou Lou next year! Such wonderful day and the Prince and Princess Of Wales were looking brilliant and stunning in blue!”

A second chimed in with: “Beautiful family. We missed Prince Louis though.”

Meanwhile, a third added: “Hope Louis will be there next year.”

And a fourth joked: “Ok, but I wanna see Louis - king of all events.”

Meanwhile, someone else rightly pointed out: “Prince Louis is far too young to sit for that length of time. He'll get his turn when he's older.”

And another user joked: “Mum & Dad decided to leave the young prince at home… couldn’t risk the chance that he’d steal the show and take the limelight away from the epic final.”
