A clip of Kate Middleton’s ‘perfect’ curtsy has gone viral, as she welcomed the Sultan of Oman to Windsor Castle alongside her husband, Prince William, King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The British Royal Family were waiting to greet ltan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said when he arrived in the pouring rain, ahead of the historic visit.
During the official welcome, the King removed his top hat to greet the Sultan, giving him a wide grin as he shook his hand, while Kate performed a deep curtsey as they stood under the covered dais.

Reacting to the regal moment, one X user wrote: “That curtsy. In the rain, under a dais, to a Sultan she’d met for the first time, deep enough to mean it and quick enough not to make a show of it, with a smile at the bottom. Fifteen years of practice and she still does it like the first time mattered. It did.”
While a second gushed: “That curtsie....perfect! Princess Catherine looking gorgeous as always.”
A third wrote: “Princess Catherine dropped her famous curtsy, extending a Royal welcome. Now that's how you curtsy.
“Catherine has learned the Royal protocols and understands the importance of taking an interest in each country's customs prior to their official engagements with those Royals or presidents.”
A fourth chimed in with: “Now this is how you curtsy! Perfect! She’s absolutely wonderful, truly the jewel in the crown.”
And a fifth wrote: “I just adore Catherine. Her manners are impeccable & she always does such a lovely, respectful curtsey!”
For the important moment, Kate looked elegant in a long green Alexander McQueen coat and a matching hat featuring a bow detail.
Oman is a key Middle East ally of the UK, and the timely visit comes as America’s war against Iran continues, with the vital shipping route of the Strait of Hormuz, close to the coast of Oman, a key pinch point.
British forces have trained alongside Omani forces in their country for decades, and Duqm is an important port town in Oman hosting a major UK strategic military presence.

Reports in the Middle East media suggest the King and Sultan are expected to discuss regional and international developments and explore ways to enhance bilateral coordination during the state visit.
The Sultan is also due to hold talks with Prime Minister Andy Burnham on Wednesday (21 October) after the two leaders spoke during the summer when they reportedly discussed efforts to open the Strait of Hormuz to shipping.
Last night, the Sultan enjoyed a royal banquet, where King Charles gave a speech and said there can be ‘few happier symbols of success’ than watching a relationship passed between generations, as he praised William.
Charles told the Sultan: “Our connections matter deeply and, in this regard, I have been especially delighted to see our sons, the Prince of Wales and His Highness Sayyid Theyazin, become joint patrons of the Jewel of Arabia Expedition.”
He added: “Your Majesty, there can be few happier symbols of success than a living relationship being passed from one generation to the next.”
