Justin Bieber forced to apologise to doula while wife Hailey was giving birth

Since joining the streamer Twitch earlier this week, Justin Bieber has made a number of controversial confessions - including that he once apologised to his wife's doula following a brutal mishap.

By the Canadian musician's own admission, the bust-up occurred back in August of last year, whilst his other-half was in the midst of labour.

For those in need of a reminder, Rhode beauty boss Hailey, birthed a beautiful baby boy on 22 August, six years after she and Bieber tied the knot. Taking to Instagram to share a photo of the tot's tiny hand, the couple revealed they'd named him Jack Blues.

Only on a handful of occasions since has 28-year-old Hailey reflected on her 18-hour labour, which she previously described to E! News as 'the hardest thing I've ever done'.

Not only was the mother-of-one induced at 39 weeks, but she went on to endure a severe postpartum haemorrhage, also telling the publication: "I was bleeding really badly, and people die, and the thought crosses your mind."

Despite Hailey thankfully going on to make a full recovery, her 'Baby' singer husband has this week admitted to making her labour experience even more trivial, after coming to blows with her doula.

"I remember dealing with, like... there was tension with..." Bieber recalled during a livestream on Wednesday (29 Oct). "Because we had a doula and then we had a nurse as well, and the nurse and the doula were really kind of butting heads."

For reference, a 'doula' is an individual that supports mums-to-be during the run-up to their labour, as well as the actual birthing experience.

According to experts at the baby charity Tommy's, while not permitted to intervene medically, they're often experienced in other aspects of child-rearing, like pregnancy yoga and baby massage.

Going on to reveal that, as well as the nurse, he himself 'butted heads' with Hailey's doula, Bieber confessed: "And I was hella emotional because it's like, this is like one of the most important times of your life.

"And I remember just like, I think I was being really strong with the doula," he added, admitting the row left his wife feeling even more nervous.

"So she's like, 'You need to apologise to the doula,'" Bieber recalled of Hailey's response, claiming she told him: "'Just clear the air'."

Remembering the ins and outs of his emotional apology, the 31-year-old reportedly told the baby expert: "'I don't want you to take away from my moment either as the dad. I got this too.' There's times when I need to console Hailey."

Bieber insisted, however: "I felt like she was pushing me to the side so that she could do (her job)."
