Justin Bieber praised for response about having baby with Hailey years before pregnancy announcement

The news that Justin and Hailey Bieber are starting a family has been met with celebration from the 'Baby' singer's fans.

The pregnancy announcement was shared to Instagram on Thursday (9 May) through a heartwarming post.

Justin, 30, and Hailey, 27, posted a video along with a series of photographs showing the model wearing a lacy white dress, while Justin cradles her baby bump.

Celebrities were among the masses giving their congratulations to the couple.

Kendall Jenner commented: "Ahhhh here come the tears again," while Kim Kardashian gushed: "I love you guys sooooo much!!!!"

It's no surprise that fans were so happy, as Bieber has made no secret of his desire to have a family.

In fact, the 30-year-old has been talking about wanting to be a dad for many years now.

In a 2015 episode of Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, the Biebs opened up about his hopes for the future.

When asked where he wanted to be in ten years time, Justin answered: "I want to be completely secure in myself and have a family."

James then replied: "That's a very mature answer."

This wasn't an isolated incident however, as the singer has been open about his paternal instincts in other interviews.

While appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2020, he was asked about whether he and Hailey were going to start a family.

After Ellen enquired about how many kids he hoped to have, Justin said: "I'm going to have as many as Hailey is wishing to push out.

"I'd love to have myself a little tribe.

"But it's her body and whatever she wants to do."

Then in his Prime Video doc, Justin Bieber: Our World, Justin was filmed talking about his hopes for 2021.

He told Hailey: "I hope we squish out a nugget."

Shocked, his wife responded: "In 2021?!"

Justin pushed back: "At the end of 2021? We start trying?"

To which his wife conceded: "Maybe... we shall see."

Fans gushed about these comments, with one writing: "They genuinely seem so happy together, I wish people would leave them alone."

Another tweeted: "Justin Bieber saying 'it’s up to you babe', to Hailey in 2021 and then having his ultimate dream come true just three years later."

While someone else added: "Throwback to 8 years ago when justin bieber said he wants to have a family, and now he’s about to be a father."

The couple have been wed since 2018, after years of on-and-off dating.

Since they have kept their relationship private for the most part, they have been subjected to constant media speculation.

Speaking about motherhood as a 'private intimate thing' in a GQ interview, Hailey said in 2023: "It’s something that’s going to come when it comes.

"And it’s just, honestly, at the end of the day, so hilarious how much people f**king care.

"Let me do what I want to do with my body and you guys can do what you want to do with your bodies - and let’s just let it be that."
