Justin Bieber just upheld extremely special family tradition with decision over first baby’s name

Naturally, it didn’t take long for the Beliebers to try and work out the meaning behind the adorable name

Justin Bieber and wife Hailey are now proud parents, having confirmed on Friday they’d welcomed their little bundle of joy - news that no doubt made fans of the singer’s baby-faced early career feel pretty old...

The couple had announced their pregnancy back in May this year, with Justin, 30, posting a sweet video and a series of photos showing wife Hailey, 27, dressed in white lace as he cradled her baby bump.

As last weekend approached, the news finally came that Hailey had given birth, a photo showing her holding their newborn’s foot.

In the picture’s caption, Justin also confirmed their son’s name, revealing they’d gone semi-traditional with a bit of a rock 'n' roll twist.

"WELCOME HOME, JACK BLUES BIEBER,” he wrote.

Naturally, it didn’t take long for the Beliebers to try and work out the meaning behind the adorable name, with many speculating that ‘Jack’ was a nod to his dad.

"Jack Blues Bieber Jack is from Justin's dad," one tweeted, adding: "And Blues is because he is a boy, I guess, BIEBER."

Someone else echoed: "BABY BIEBER IS HERE, AND IT’S A BOY!! I’m guessing he was named after his grandfather, since Jeremy’s middle name is Jack. I’M SOOOOOOO HAPPY!! They’re going to be the BEST parents!!"

According to PEOPLE, however, there could well be more to it as the name also seems to follow a family pattern.

Along with Jeremy Bieber - who split from Justin's mum Pattie Mallette not long after their son was born - there’s also Justin’s half-sister Jazmyn Bieber, 16, and half-brother Jaxon Bieber, 14.

Notice how they all share the same initials as both Justin and now also his child?

The pair have previously spoken about their desire to become parents, with Justin previously telling Ellen DeGeneres in 2020: "I'm going to have as many as Hailey is wishing to push out.

“I'd love to have myself a little tribe, but it's her body and whatever she wants to do."

Hailey has also talked about her desire to raise her family out fo the spotlight – something her own parents, Stephen and Kennya Baldwin, did.

However, she’s accepted that the attention is ‘probably totally unavoidable’.

“That was before I was married,” the Rhode founder told GQ. “Didn’t know who I was going to be married to at the time, I’m sure.

“Maybe I liked the idea at 18 of not raising kids around certain things, but my life is so different now than it was when I was 18.

“It’s so hard to say what I’m going to do or not do when there isn’t even a child here yet. I don’t even know what it feels like to be a parent other than a dog parent yet.

"And that’s not the same thing, by any means.”
