Selena Gomez has been applauded by fans for her touching reaction to losing a Golden Globe award to her co-star, Zoe Saldaña.

Gomez was nominated for two awards tonight; Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy in Only Murders in the Building, and Best Supporting Actress in Emilia Pérez.

However, she lost in the latter category to Saldaña who also beat Wicked star Ariana Grande to the accolade.

Clearly overwhelmed with joy for her co-star taking home the prestigious accolade, Gomez stood up off her chair before jumping up and down while applauding Saldaña as she graced the stage.

Fans couldn't wait to rush to social media to share their praise for the actress' reaction with one X user writing: "Selena is the cutest! She was already looking at her and saying 'Zoe Zoe Zoe' before they announced Zoe won!"

"Pure class response!" declared a second while a third chirped: "What a supportive queen!"

A fourth chimed in: "She’s so sweet omg!"

And a final X user echoed: "Selena Gomez showing love for Zoe Saldaña’s Golden Globe win for Emilia Pérez! True queens supporting queens!"

While fans were very happy at the heartfelt moment, they were clearly far less happy about Gomez's fiancé Benny Blanco's 'nasty' habit -

chewing gum with an open mouth - with many rushing to social media to share their disgust.
