We're just hours away from the 83rd Golden Globes kicking off and the anticipation is well and truly building.

This year's star-studded awards ceremony is taking place at The Beverly Hilton in California and is being hosted for the second year in a row by American comedian and actress Nikki Glaser.

Hollywood's biggest names are all set to be gathered in one room as they battle it out for some of the world's most prestigious entertainment awards, recognising the best in motion pictures, television and beyond.

And with 2026's festivities just around the corner, we've been reflecting on all of the viral moments that came out of last year's ceremony.

For one, Kylie Jenner left fans seriously shocked after making a Golden Globes appearance with boyfriend Timothée Chalamet.

Also in attendance were lovebirds Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez ahead of their wedding, which took place in September of this year.

The couple could be seen up on the big screen as host Glaser threw a few jokes in their direction and noted Gomez's nominations.

As the camera panned to them, the comedian said: "Selena Gomez is here. A double nominee tonight for Emilia Pérez and Only Murders [In The Building], and she's here tonight with her new fiancé, Benny Blanco.

"And Benny Blanco is here because of the genie that granted that wish. Man, lucky guy."

They took the joke well and Gomez sweetly mimed that she was the lucky one of the two, while music producer Blanco laughed and kissed her on the shoulder.

Instead of focusing on the cute moment, some fans couldn't help but notice one detail that they weren't too impressed with - a habit of Blanco's.

Viewers noticed that he appeared to be chewing gum with his mouth open and quickly took to social media to point it out.

One Twitter user wrote: "#breakingnews benny blanco chewing gum with an open mouth at the golden globes."

While a second added: "Seeing Benny Blanco's face chewing that gum with his mouth wide open makes me want to punch a hole in my wall."

And a third wrote: "@selenagomez tell Benny Blanco to stop chewing gum with his mouth open yuck!!"

Someone else agreed: "Benny Blanco nasty [...] chewing gum with an open mouth at the Golden Globes."

Meanwhile, a fifth chimed in with: "Benny Blanco chewing gum with his mouth open omg I feel SICK."

However, the celebrity couple didn't let the comments get them down and Blanco later posted a heartwarming TikTok about his now wife.

He filmed her looking all glammed up and captioned the short clip: "I got to take home the best award of the night."

One fan gushed: "May this type of love find us immediately."

Another commented: "Thank you Benny for making our girl happy!"
