Gabriel Macht has talked his about life outside of the US after moving to another country with his family.

The New York-born actor, 53, is living his best expat life along with the two children he shares with his wife, Australian-American Bridget Jones actor Jacinda Barrett.

Macht made the surprising revelation last month in an interview that the family of four left American life behind a few years ago after finishing work on the series Suits in 2019.

“I'm waking up, breakfast with the kids, running them to school,” Macht told E! News about his new life. "I've got my coffee machine that I love. I'm with my dogs. I'm walking my dogs. I'm rebuilding, renovating. I'm constantly trying to find some cool things to do with the kids, playing music with them, working on short films with them, cooking."

The actor has not revealed where exactly the family moved to. However, he does travel back to the United States every so often, including when he films the upcoming Suits spin-off, Suits LA.

He also opened up about the toll of working long days while starring as Harvey Spector on the legal drama alongside Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle, Gina Torres, and Rick Hoffman.

“I lost a lot of time with my daughter growing up while we were doing Suits, because those 14, 16-hour days,” Macht recalls. “And so I made a strong choice to not do that during my son's upbringing. He turned 11 yesterday, and we're seeing the fruits of that.

He also gave a hint about the reasons behind the decision to leave the US.

“I want to see how the world looks in different people's eyes," he noted. "I want to see different perspectives. I want to learn from others. I want to see history and culture and character in different places in the world. I feel like, why not? If you have the opportunity, it's a great way to raise kids."

In a separate interview published last month, Macht explained why he’s returning as Harvey in the upcoming LA-based Suits series.

"I'm just doing it for the fans. I'm not doing it for me. I've done it 134 times. I'm not doing it for me," Macht, who is now a creative partner and executive shareholder in Bear Fight Whiskey, revealed.

"I had very little interest in coming back to work as an actor right now because I spent so much time [doing it] and this was my time to really raise my kids and to do this creative stuff like Bear Fight," he told People.

Suits LA debuts on 23 February.
