In the most unexpected crossover ever, it seems that footballer Erling Haaland is helping men to learn about the menstrual cycle.
Yes, you read that right - the World Cup star who became a fan favourite this year thanks to his social media posts and quirky personality is popping up literally everywhere - even to help explain periods.
The 26-year-old Norway and Manchester City star featured in a recent Instagram post by Dubai-based company Hiya Healthcare, with different snaps of the athlete used to demonstrate each phase of the menstrual cycle.
The post was hilariously aimed at ‘the men who still don’t get it’ and included different photos of Haaland on the pitch to represent the menstrual phase, follicular phase, ovulation, and the luteal phase, which women, of course, are very familiar with.
The brand wrote: “If women need to understand football, which happens every 4 years, men need to understand the menstrual cycle, which happens every single month. Now it’s clear, right?”

While the post is clearly tongue-in-cheek, it's important to note that many women, of course, do enjoy and watch football all year round.
They included quite an array of photos showing the footballer’s different emotions and moods on the pitch, to illustrate the specific symptoms women might be dealing with in each phase of their cycle.
For example, the luteal phase section includes four snaps of Haaland to represent being hungrier than usual, tired for no reason, overthinking everything, and crying - and fans are obsessed, not only with the clever content idea, but the fact it could be somewhat educating men.
The post has since gone so viral that it’s also made its way onto X, racking up hundreds of thousands of views and comments.
One user wrote: “The fact they’re using Haaland to explain menstrual cycle phases to men is sending me.”
A second penned: “This is the best! Using a football player to get men's attention, hope men will understand, especially during luteal and menstrual phase.”

While a third joked: “Haaland’s most unexpected assist” and a fourth wrote, “this is so accurate tho.”
A fifth chimed in with, “and it is fairly accurate too,” while a sixth added, “Fairs, I actually learned something new thanks @Erling.”
Another social media user praised: “This is great. Now do you have one for peri menopause? Cause guys should understand that too.”
While others tagged the star in the comments and questioned: “Does he know you’re using him to explain periods?”
Someone else applauded: “Give the marketing team a raise,” and another Instagram user wrote: “This is genius.”
