While Erling Haaland is making history on the pitch, his girlfriend, Isabel Haugseng, is breaking records of her own.
The Norway and Manchester City footballer, 25, has become the star of the show this World Cup, thanks to his hilarious social media posts and impressive antics on the pitch, securing his country’s spot in the quarter finals.
Halaand scored two goals against Brazil, which he called one of ‘the sickest’ days in Norway’s history.
His celebration selfie became one of the fastest posts in history to receive one million likes in an hour, reports Cosmopolitan.

Next, his team will take on England in a nail-biting match on Saturday (11 July), with one country earning a spot in the semi-finals.
As we say, though, Haaland isn’t the only star to emerge this World Cup, as his girlfriend Isabel, 22, whom he welcomed a son with in December 2024,, is also proving popular with fans.
As reported by Vantix Magazine, data compiled by Social Blade shows that Isabel currently holds the record for the tournament’s biggest single-day follower gain for a WAG so far.
Even though we’re only eight days into July, her Instagram following has surged by more than 322,200.
She currently boasts more than one million followers, with all of her posts racking up thousands of likes.
In second place on the list is Neymar’s girlfriend Bruna Biancardi, who gained 212,850 followers, with Gabriely Miranda, Endrick’s girlfriend, in third after increasing her followers by a whopping 205,485.
In fourth place is Lionel Messi’s wife Antonela Roccuzzo, who gained 183,487 in a single day, while Cristiano Ronaldo’s fiancée, Georgia Rodriguez, got an extra 176,343.
The couple, who have been together for five years, are famously private about their relationship.
But the football star has previously revealed how they met - and it was longer ago than you’d expect.
Haaland and Isabel grew up in the same hometown of Bryne, which is located in southwestern Norway.
Adorably, they both took part in the local football community as children and even played on the same team.
Speaking in an October 2025 YouTube video, the sports star revealed: “She played football. We met and all of that. It’s nice because you understand football.”
Explaining how the romance began in an interview with NRK, Haaland previously explained: “She sent me a message. But she played for the same club I played for, Bryne. So she checked me out, I didn’t check her out.”
