Grimes has slammed ex-partner Elon Musk for parading their four-year-old son around the White House earlier this week amid attempts to keep the youngster's identity private.

On Tuesday (11 Feb), Musk, 53, made his debut appearance at the White House to witness President Donald Trump signing an executive order about his role as Department of Government Efficiency co-lead.

Spectators of the meeting were initially surprised to see the tech front-runner had brought his son X Æ A-12 - often nicknamed X - along with him.

By all online accounts, the toddler undoubtedly stole the show, interrupting his father several times whilst Musk was questioned about the power of his controversial new government position.

Another viral moment saw X picking his nose before wiping his bogies on the Resolute Desk, with spectators later taking to social media to share their reactions to the sequence of events.

"Trump seethes as President Musk's kid eats his boogers then paws his desk," one jibed.

Someone not too thrilled to see the youngster's charming antics on full display, however, was X's mother, singer-songwriter Grimes.

The star (real name Claire Elise Boucher) has since issued a statement about her son's appearance after a Twitter user tagged her in a series of online comments about X's antics.

"Lil X was very polite today!... You raised him well..." the user initially wrote. "He was so cute when he told DJT 'please forgive me, I need to pee'."

Grimes - who also shares two younger children, a daughter and a son, with the tech boss - was quick to reply to the tweet, admitting she was unaware of her former partner's plan to present their son to the world.

"He should not be in public like this," the 'Genesis' singer it out. "I did not see this, thank u for alerting me."

She went on to add: "But I'm glad he was polite. Sigh."

This isn't the first time that Grimes has been left disappointed by Musk's parenting antics.

On 10 January, she found herself in hot water with one online critic who accused her of failing to intervene with Musk's decision to parade their son out in public, to which she responded with an emotional statement.

"I have made it clear I do not approve of that in every conceivable way I know I am," Grimes tweeted, as per The Independent.

"I am desperate to solve it. It is a personal tragedy to me. But currently, I don’t know how to do that."

Back in January, Tesla CEO Musk - who, alongside X, also has 11 other children - seemingly turned a blind eye to his ex's wishes once again and bought the toddler along to Trump's victory rally in Washington D.C.

In footage and videos that subsequently went viral online, the youngster could be seen jumping around on stage donning a red jumper.
