Actress Claire Danes has revealed that her reaction to getting pregnant caused her ‘convulsive tears’ and a ‘meltdown’ on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast.
The 46-year-old was not prepared when at 44, she found out she was expecting a baby, telling Poehler that her reaction wasn’t the only negative one.
Danes, who has three children with actor Hugh Dancy, admitted that she ‘didn’t know it was physically possible’ for her to get pregnant.
Last year, she shared that actually felt ‘shame’ when she spoke on the SmartLess podcast.

She explained at the time that she ‘was so old when that happened.
"I was 44. I didn't think it was possible! I really didn't. I was terrified but all was okay," she added.
“Well, it was actually really interesting because I did not foresee this at all. And it was weird. Suddenly I felt like a funny shame.”
The three-time Emmy winner went on to share that she felt 'naughty’, as she ‘had been caught fornicating past the point I was meant to’.
“It was weird,” she said. “And it was like I found an edge that I hadn't been quite conscious of.”
But when sharing her story with Poehler, she said that the moment she found out was actually a time of pure chaos.
“I called my OBGYN in convulsive tears. It was a pure like, meltdown,' she shared.
Danes, who has sons Rowan, 13, Cyrus, seven, and her now-two-year-old daughter whose name she hasn’t publicly revealed, said ‘none of this was by design.’
She added: “I didn't know it was physically possible. I was 44. And actually, Rowan was very hard-earned. I had to do two rounds of IVF.
“It was all meltdown,” she said, then adding of her little daughter: “And then this beautiful girl emerged and she's the best, and none of it was up to me and I'm just delighted.”
As for how her oldest son took the news, he didn’t seem too delighted, said the mother.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Live, she said her son Cyrus 'was sort of resigned to it', but Rowan was a different kettle of fish.
She said: "Rowan has more to lose, like, he has more at stake. And he was categorically opposed to the idea.
“He said, ‘Yeah, no, no, no, I don't like it. I like peace, Mama.’ I was like, that's rich because that dude does not shut up.”
She then revealed that he suggested giving the baby away, telling her ‘we’re done’ with having kids.
But she did in fact keep her baby, and Rowan is now a big brother.
