Bunnie Xo has opened up about the brutal reality of her divorce from Jelly Roll, admitting the heartbreak became so overwhelming that she struggled to eat and at times needed IV treatment.
The Dumb Blonde podcaster spoke candidly about the end of her marriage during a recent appearance on TODAY, revealing just how badly the split affected her physically.
"There [were] moments when my team had to pick me up off the floor and give me IVs," Bunnie said. "Because I wasn’t eating. I was eating baby food to get by. I lost 20 pounds. Heartbreak, man, it’s the best freaking diet."
The admission offers a glimpse into what Bunnie was dealing with behind the scenes as her nearly decade-long marriage to Grammy-winning country singer Jelly Roll came to an end after he filed for divorce back in May.

While she has been open about the divorce publicly, Bunnie made clear that choosing not to share her lowest moments online should not be mistaken for being unaffected by the split.
"I did one time in 2018, and it’s on my YouTube, and I vowed to myself that I would never do that again," she said of previously sharing herself crying online.
"Because one, that’s super vulnerable, but two, I don’t feel like that is productive in any way."

Instead, Bunnie said she has discussed the breakdown of the marriage on her podcast, allowing fans to hear her side of what happened without documenting every emotional moment on social media.
And she had a blunt message for anyone who assumed she had simply brushed off the end of her relationship.
"I don't want to be the freaking poster child for divorce. There's nothing hot about that. It's a very devastating situation that anybody ever has to go through," she said.
"Families get broken up, hearts get broken. It's time to move on."
She continued: "I am my own person.
"I stand on my own two feet, even alongside my ex-husband. I was still my own entity and had my own brand aside from him.
"So yeah, I don't see why I couldn't continue to stand on my own two feet and not have to dwell in that space of emotion."

Bunnie and Jelly Roll married in 2016 after meeting the previous year, with their relationship lasting almost 10 years before the divorce.
Despite the pain, Bunnie is now focused on what comes next and wants people to see that rebuilding is possible after a relationship falls apart.
"When life hands you lemons, make freaking lemonade slushies. Like, let’s do this," she said.
She added: "I want to show people strength. I want to show people resilience. I want to show people rebuilding and knowing that, like, yeah, my heart was shattered, but guess what? It’s healing, and it’s coming back even stronger."
