Britney Spears has shared a new update with fans after her recent legal proceedings, and it looks like the singer is trying to focus on a more positive chapter.
The 44-year-old pop star celebrity has had a difficult few months after she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Ventura, California, on 4 March.
Since then, Spears has returned to Instagram, shared glimpses of time spent with her sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, and reportedly spent time in a treatment facility.
Earlier this month, her case returned to court, where her attorney, Michael A. Goldstein, agreed to plead guilty to a ‘wet reckless’ on her behalf.

Now, Spears appears to be opening up about a major lifestyle shift, as she told fans she has been on a ‘spiritual journey’ in a new social media post.

As reported by People, the ‘Toxic’ singer shared a picture of herself on Instagram holding a baby snake after visiting a pet shop with her children, using the caption to reflect on what the animal represented to her.
For the caption, she wrote: “Went to the pet store with my kids and look at [what] a beautiful baby snake this is”
“… Snakes are symbolic of good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck…”
Spears then went on to speak about the people she has met recently, while also sharing that she is learning to be kinder to herself.
She continued: “I’m so damn thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey … all a blessing in disguise…”
“I still have to learn how to be kind to myself and the way I speak to myself… It’s a never ending journey and sometimes I just stop, look up and say wow God I think that was you and smile on!!!!”
The singer did not directly mention her arrest in the post.
Spears did not appear in person at Ventura Superior Court on Monday, 4 May, for her reckless driving sentencing, and was represented by Goldstein.
Following the hearing, her lawyer said in a statement: “Through her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct. She has taken significant steps to implement positive change which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI.
“Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.”
Spears was sentenced to 12 months’ probation and one day in jail, credited as time served, as well as being fined $571.00.
She must also attend a three-month DUI programme, see a psychologist once a week, and a psychiatrist twice a month. Her vehicle has also been authorised to be searched for drugs and alcohol.
At the time of the March arrest, a representative for Spears said the incident was ‘completely inexcusable’.
The statement said: “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life”.
“Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
