Britney Spears has piqued the interest of fans with a cryptic Instagram post after her husband Sam Asghari filed for divorce.
The ‘Gimme More’ singer, 41, has remained tight-lipped about her split from the 29-year-old personal trainer and aspiring actor.
Britney and Sam married in June 2022 after meeting on the set of her 2016 music video for ‘Slumber Party’. However, according to the divorce documents filed by Sam earlier this week, the couple’s romance came to an end in July.

As rumours spread online about the nature of their split, Sam confirmed that the pair had called time on their marriage, writing in a post on his Instagram Story that the split came ‘after six years of love and commitment to each other’.
“My wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote. “We will hold on to the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.”
"Sh** happens. Asking for privacy seems rediclulous [sic] so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful."
Britney has yet to address the breakup at the time of writing (18 August), but she’s reported to have deleted a bunch of posts on her feed which featured her estranged husband.
However, the singer updated her account with a new post on Friday which featured artwork showing two people looking at a small glass bottle where a third person is trapped.
The Grammy winner didn’t make any comments about her pending divorce alongside the post, however, she has fans speculating as she wrote: "How do you read this ??? It’s interesting !!! I see it as a message in a bottle !!! Or a baby who needs to get out !!! They whisper the poison like in Alice In Wonderland and they wait to see if they have the cure !!! Wise birds know who they are !!!"
Britney’s newest post came a few days after she announced some plans for the future, sharing a picture of herself sitting on a horse and announcing she was going to buy one of the animals for herself.
The mum-of-two captioned the post: “Buying a horse soon!!! So many options it’s kinda hard !!! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar??? I can’t make up my mind !!! Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on ??? Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar."
