An insider has revealed a 'reason' as to why Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez may continue to have 'awkward run ins' following their divorce.
Lopez and Affleck - known as 'Bennifer' back in the early 2000s - first met on the set of Gigli back in 2001, later getting engaged in 2002.
Their wedding had been set for June 2003 but ultimately, it all proved too much and they called it quits the following year - with Affleck later revealing they didn't end up walking down the aisle for a particular reason.
After over a decade, the pair got engaged once again in April 2022 before tying the knot the second time around in July that same year.

Following numerous break-up rumours, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in April after just two years of marriage, with the official date of their separation reportedly being noted as 26 April, 2024.
However, since then, the pair have been spotted together on numerous occasions, including a blended family outing a few months back.
Lopez shares two children, Emme Maribel Muñiz and Max Muñiz, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck has three kids with ex-wife Jennifer Garner; Violet Anne, Seraphina Rose and Samuel.

Some of the pair's children from their previous marriages attend the same school - hence, why another 'reunion' between Lopez and Affleck seems extremely likely.
Speaking to In Touch, an insider reportedly claimed: "Ben knows he’s going to see Jen at these functions. Their kids go to the same school, so how could he not?
"Still, it’s awkward."
They also opened up about the Good Will Hunting star's alleged stance on seeing Lopez, adding: "Ben would rather not see Jen, but the kids come first. He can’t be selfish."

Speaking more about Affleck's family, the insider also praised Garner as a 'stabilising influence' and 'huge support' to her ex throughout the split.
"They’re the best of friends and there’s no awkwardness between them," they claimed.
And as for the 'I'm Into You' singer? Well, according to the source, Lopez would 'like to be closer'.

"But as far as Ben’s concerned," they added. "It’s better for them to keep separate lives as much as possible."
Naturally Affleck and Lopez will probably have many more run-ins in the future given that their children attend the same school, with the source further adding: "It’s not like they’re not going to pull their kids out of school."
Despite all the apparent relationship status confusion, the insider resolves that the pair are 'resigned to keeping things as is'.
"The hope is it’ll get easier as time goes by," they claimed.
