Jennifer Lopez files for divorce from Ben Affleck after two years of marriage

Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, it has been confirmed.
According to court documents seen by the BBC and a number of other outlets, Lopez filed for divorce yesterday in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, with the BBC saying both will need to disclose their financial information, including current income, expenses, properties and debts.
The document, which did not list any details of a prenuptial agreement, said Lopez and Affleck are mandated to share any changes to their finances 'until there is a final agreement about all financial issues in your case'.
It is reported that the date of their separation was listed as 26 April 2024.

Rumours have been circling about the couple's impending split for some time, with Lopez recently seen holidaying separately and not wearing her wedding ring as she spent the 4th of July alone.
Last month, the pair were also reported to have put their 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom California mansion on the market for $68,000,000, while Affleck wasn't in attendance for the premiere of Lopez's movie Atlas in Mexico - where the Hustlers star deflected the divorce rumours when asked by a reporter.
During the press conference, a reporter asked her: "Is your divorce with Ben Affleck real? These rumours?
“What is the truth? For the Mexican press, what is the truth of the situation?”
Her co-star, Simu Liu, leapt to her defence, saying: "Ok, we’re not doing that.
“Thank you so much guys, we really appreciate it. Thank you.”
The Hustlers star herself then leaned forward and chided: "You know better than that.”
Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, got married two years ago after almost two decades apart following their split in 2004.
Their first ceremony took place in Las Vegas in July 2022, which was followed up with a larger second ceremony in Georgia just a month later.
Lopez said at the time: “Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient."
The two were in a highly publicised relationship back in the noughties, having been dubbed as 'Bennifer' by the press.
Affleck even went on to star in the iconic music video for J-Lo’s hit, 'Jenny From The Block'.
Almost two decades after their first releationship, they rekindled their romance - much to the delight of fans - going on to get matching tattoos featuring one another's initials.
Lopez debuted the body art on Instagram in 2023, wishing Affleck a happy Valentine’s Day in the process, using the hashtag '#CommitmentIsSexy'.
