Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Zahara has officially dropped her father’s surname after a judge approved her legal name change.
The 21-year-old is now legally known as Zahara Marley Jolie, rather than Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, following a hearing in California on Monday (28 September).
Court records obtained by PEOPLE show the petition was approved without objections.
Zahara had filed the request earlier this year, asking to remove 'Pitt' from her surname.

The move makes Zahara the third of the former couple’s six children to drop their father’s surname legally, following siblings Shiloh and Maddox.

Shiloh filed to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie on her 18th birthday in 2024, with the change approved that August.
Maddox, meanwhile, officially became Maddox Chivan Jolie earlier this month.
Their sister Vivienne has also petitioned to change her name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, with her court hearing scheduled for November.
Zahara had already been using Jolie publicly for some time.
During her graduation from Spelman College in May, she was introduced as Zahara Marley Jolie, despite being listed under her former surname in the commencement programme.
She had also introduced herself by the name while joining Alpha Kappa Alpha in 2023.

The name change comes almost a decade after her parents' split in 2016.
Jolie and Pitt first met while filming Mr. & Mrs Smith in 2004 and went public as a couple the following year.
Their family grew to six children, with Jolie adopting Maddox from Cambodia and Zahara from Ethiopia, while the pair later adopted Pax from Vietnam. They welcomed biological children Shiloh in 2006 and twins Knox and Vivienne in 2008.
After becoming engaged in 2012, Jolie and Pitt married in France in August 2014, with their children involved in the ceremony. Just two years later, Jolie filed for divorce, citing 'irreconcilable differences'.
The former couple were declared legally single in 2019, but their divorce was not fully finalised until December 2024 following years of legal disputes.
Pitt has denied allegations of abuse made by Jolie.
Last month (10 August), in an Esquire interview, Pitt discussed the emotional toll of what he described only as 'family stuff', including a period when he experienced suicidal thoughts.
"I’ve never been suicidal except for one little period," Pitt confessed. "And in that one little period, I just thought - I just couldn’t - just didn’t see a way out."
