Aimee Lou Wood, one of the breakout stars of Netflix's Sex Education, has addressed comments about her teeth and her distinctive look.

The actress, who is currently starring in Netflix's Toxic Town and HBO's White Lotus, has spoken out on her appearance in response to fans comments. Wood, who shot to fame in Sex Education and has gone on to carve an impressive career, has most recently been playing astrology-loving Chelsea in the third series of White Lotus which sees her character take a Thailand vacation with her increasingly surly older boyfriend Rick (played by Walton Goggins).

The high profile role has seen the Stockport-born actress win a new legion of fans, with many commenting on her teeth.

One person on X wrote: "Aimee lou wood’s teeth p*ss me off," whereas others felt more positively as one shared: "I really love Aimee Lou Wood’s teeth. It significantly makes her ten times more attractive to me."

Another added: "I will hunt any dentist that tries to give aimee lou wood veneers for sport leave her and her adorable bunny teeth alone they suit her so well."

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter last month, Wood explained: "These people live in Hollywood. I live in my little flat in South East London.

"I’m so British in my sensibility that I wasn’t sure how to handle being around so many people who are so front-footed and confident. All I ever do is take the piss out of myself."

She added: "Even the way [White Lotus fans] are talking about me and my teeth - that I don’t have veneers or Botox - it feels a bit rebellious."

She's also previously explained that she thinks her pearly whites might be what stops her from playing an American character on screen.

She said during the February On Demand Entertainment interview: "It’s the teeth. Like, no Americans have my teeth. They just don’t. I’d have to get veneers. Because … I think that genuinely is like one of the things."

She's also previously opened up on her 'unconventional looks', but explained that model George May Jagger helped her to embrace her 'buck teeth'.

Speaking on Instagram, Wood said: "[My mouth] was the thing that everyone pointed out and it was the thing that made me different. And I’ve never seen an actress on TV with teeth like mine.

"When Georgia Jagger did the ‘Get the London Look’ and she had the gap teeth, that was a huge moment. I then thought, 'I am going to put red lipstick on and I am going to draw attention to it.'"

Wood's most recent role sees her taking up the real life story following the story of three mothers involved in the Corby toxic waste case for Netflix series Toxic Town.

Wood plays Tracey Taylor, who's daughter Shelby died at just four-days-old. She was born with a two chamber heart as opposed to four, which is believed to have occurred due to the toxic waste in the area.
