Understandably, Aimee Lou Wood is beyond over dealing with the internet's seriously bizarre obsession with her gnashers.

In case you're out of the loop, many of us were first introduced to the 31-year-old British actress back in 2019 when she graced our screens - and warmed our hearts - taking on the role of Aimee Gibbs in Sex Education.

Since then, Aimee has gone on to star in a number of hit films and TV shows including The White Lotus playing astrology-loving Chelsea in the third season of the HBO series, which sees her character take a Thailand vacation with her increasingly surly older boyfriend Rick, played by Walton Goggins.

The high profile role has seen the Stockport-born actress win a new legion of fans, some of which were unfortunately very clearly body-shaming internet trolls, with many commenting on her teeth.

One person on X wrote: "Aimee Lou Wood’s teeth p*ss me off,"

"I’m sorry but Aimee Lou wood got them Austin powers teeth it’s kinda crazy," blurted out a second, while a third rudely piped up: "Aimee Lou Wood and her buck teeth are already annoying me. So distracting, she needs to fix that overbite already."

Luckily, the amount of support for Wood totally outweighs the trolling comments, with many rushing to social media to share exactly why it's so important that the actress doesn't let the nasty remarks get to her.

One Facebook user pleaded: "I think it's highly unfair to be commenting on this young lady's teeth, when they should be enjoying her acting (I personally love the things I've seen her in and this she's a very talented actress).

"So please don't be mean to her."

Another defended: "I love her teeth, it’s what makes her even more attractive. She’s just embracing her beauty and her quirks and it is empowering, we all have them. I hope she doesn’t cave under the pressures of others or Hollywood."

And a final person praised: "I think it’s refreshing & lovely to see a (GREAT!) actress not afraid to embrace the beauty they were born with, not feeling the need to correct every slight imperfection due to wanting to follow everyone else..."

But it's clear that Aimee is well and truly over the discourse after explaining exactly why she wants people to 'stop f**king talking about' her teeth after being forced to address relentless comments about them.

"It’s, like, cool, and now I want to stop f**king talking about it," she told the Sunday Times in a new interview published over the weekend (5 April).

"Can I talk about my character? Why am I talking about my gnashers?" she continued. "It’s like now I’m just a pair of front teeth."

While a lot of the commentary has been positive, Aimee is clearly still getting to grips with her looks being such a hot topic.

"I understand what it represents. People feel more confident about their imperfections. It does feel a bit weird that the thing I got bullied for is now the thing that everyone’s, like, 'Woo!'" she said of her teeth.

"It’s still the thing that’s defining me."
