Adam Peaty changes name after Holly Ramsay wedding where dad Gordon made brutal ‘dig’

The newlyweds tied the knot at a star-studded Bath ceremony on Saturday (27 December)

Adam Peaty has changed his name following his wedding with Holly Ramsay over the weekend (27 December).

The 31-year-old Olympic swimmer tied the knot with Holly, who is celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's 25-year-old daughter, at Bath Abbey in a stunning ceremony with a star-studded guestlist.

However, due to a rumoured 'family feud', Adam's mum, Caroline, was not in attendance. Caroline has claimed that the feud began when Holly initially failed to invite her to her hen party.

Breaking her silence to the Daily Mail before the wedding, Caroline said: "I don't think they understand how much they have hurt me; it's as if they have cut my heart out.

"This is the first Christmas that I've not had my family together – my family is broken. Yes, I have my other grandchildren. Yes, I have my other children, but my family is split because of the goings on...because of the wedding."

She continued: "Me going would just cause even more of a storm and I don't want to ruin his wedding day. I wanted to be there quietly to watch him get married, but that can't happen now.

"I don't know if they are too young or don't value family as much as I have, but they don't understand that family is the foundation to everything."

"Family is the foundation you can return to when things get rough. I've had that throughout my life. Luckily, my mum is still alive and still supports me at 83 – I still get told off as if I'm five! I want that for my children, if I'm lucky enough to live that long," she added.

Despite the drama, it's clear the newlyweds are very much so loved-up with Adam, who shares a five-year-old son with his ex-girlfriend Eirianedd Munro, now changing his Instagram handle to Adam Ramsay Peaty.

Holly's handle is still the same, but she has added 'HollyAnna Ramsay Peaty' to her Instagram name bio.

According to The Sun, who reportedly spoke to a number of invited guests during the meal, Gordon referenced the family disagreement, claiming his wife, Tana, would be a 'good mum to them both'.

Whilst it may have served as a message of welcome to the sportsman, some onlookers took the remark to be a slight aimed in Adam's direction, adding of Holly: "Shame you don't have the same."

Gordon followed the message by commenting on how beautiful his daughter looked, describing Adam as a 'lucky man'.

"Look at Tana, and that's what you have to look forward to," he went on to jibe.

During the wedding, Adam is understood to have avoided references to his family, instead giving a special shout-out to his swim coach, Mel Marshall, describing her as his 'everything', and thanking her for 'grounding and inspiring' him.

Adam also confessed to seeing Mel 'like a mum'.
