The latest in a slew of Netflix Christmas movie offerings, A Knight Before Christmas, has just landed on the streaming platform - and people are already raving about it.

The Vanessa Hudgens-starring festive rom-com landed on Thursday 21st October, and already fans are calling it the "best ever".

Netflix announced it has ordered the Crimbo film back in October, and teased that it would be "a modern day romance with a medieval twist".

The perfectly-titled film sees unlucky in love science teacher Brooke (Hudgens) meet a medieval English knight Sire Cole (played by Josh Whitehouse) who has been magically transported to the present day.

Much like everyone's favourite Christmas classic, Elf, Brooke then sets out to helps Sir Cole as he tries to seamlessly fit in to modern life, while also offering a helping hand as he completes his quest.

But as the pair get closer, Sir Cole begins to wonder if he wants to leave Brooke behind and return to his old life after all.

The film - Vanessa Hudgen's second after A Christmas Switch from 2018 - has all the components of the perfect Christmas film, so it's no wonder the positive reviews are already rolling in.

"The Knight Before Christmas is such a cheesy movie..... I F*CKING LOVED IT WITH ALL MY SOUL," gushed one fan on Twitter.

Another called it "worth the watch".

A third went as far as to say: "the knight before christmas is the best film ive ever seen hands down [sic]."

For many, it was an absolute tearjerker.

"I dare you all to watch the knight before christmas (it's on netflix) and not cry, difficult one," said one person.

"the knight before christmas was so good ugh bye. crying," said another.

Wow, high praise. Perhaps A Knight Before Christmas is the the reason for Netflix's outage?

Stranger things have happened!
