If you were one of the many people who were absolutely fuming that holiday classic The Grinch was taken off Netflix just as the festive season began, we've got good news for you: the Christmas movie will be airing today on ITV.

The 2000 comedy, officially titled How The Grinch Stole Christmas, was based on Dr. Seuss's book of the same name, and starred Jim Carrey, Anthony Hopkins, Jeffrey Tambor and Christine Baranski.

The film focused on a sarcastic, strange and misanthropic creature, The Grinch, who, after being rejected by the people of his town as a child, slowly comes to terms with his past and realises the true meaning of Christmas thanks to a friendship with a little girl called Cindy Lou Who.

Along the way, there are plenty of pranks, jokes and capers - and lots of heartwarming moments too.

In an ideal world we'd have The Grinch back on Netflix where it belongs, so we can get some of that Jim Carrey Christmas cheer no matter what the time of year.

Having said that, ITV has a pretty impressive festive schedule.

As well as How The Grinch Stole Christmas, there are a whole host of other Christmas movies to binge on over the holiday season. This includes Santa Claus - The Movie and Elf, also on today, Shrek The Halls and Four Christmases on tomorrow, and Skyfall on the 26th, Love Actually on the 27th, The Holiday on the 30th and Spectre on the 31st.

And if you'd rather indulge in a more 21st-century viewing party on Netflix on your laptop, rather than sitting around the TV, festive movies hitting the streaming platform just in time for Christmas include The Knight Before Christmas, Holiday In The Wild, Let It Snow, Klaus, Holiday Rush and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby.
