While fans may sadly be waiting a long time for another series of Doctor Foster, we finally have more news (and more importantly, a trailer) for its spin-off show - which is nearly just as good in our eyes.

Life, created by the same brains behind the hit Suranne Jones-starring drama, is hitting our screens soon, and we have more juicy details on the show.

Set in Manchester, the six-part drama follows the stories of the residents of a large house divided into four flats.

One of these residents is Belle - formerly known as Anna Baker - having changed her name to start her life afresh as a pilates teacher in the northern city following the events of Doctor Foster.

Her ex-husband Neil Baker is expected to pop up later in the series, disrupting Anna's new life, as well as her teenage niece.

In case you needed reminding, Neil and Anna Baker (played by Adam James and Victoria Hamilton) lived opposite Gemma and Tom in Gloucester.

They worked hard to save their marriage after Neil's serial cheating, but Anna left for good in series 2 after she discovered her husband had had a one-night stand with Gemma (Suranne Jones).

When finding out about Neil's betrayal, Anna announced she was moving to Edinburgh to live with her sister and would never return.

Creator and writer of Doctor Foster and Life, Mike Bartlett, said earlier this year: "In the last series of Doctor Foster Anna split up with Neil and moved away. But I loved her as a character and suspected that was really the start of her story, rather than the end."

Now, Anna (aka Belle) will continue her story living alongside a group of residents in Manchester.

Belle's neighbours include Gail (played by Alison Steadman), Henry (Peter Davison), David (Adrian Lester), Saira (Saira Choudhry), Maya (Erin Kellyman), Andy (Calvin Demba), Liam (Joshua James) and Hannah (Melissa Johns).

Revealing more details about the characters, the channel adds: "Gail, married to Henry, is about to celebrate her 70th birthday when a chance encounter throws her whole life into question.

"David is happily married to Kelly, but is conflicted by temptation when he meets the impulsive Saira on holiday."

Continuing, the plot reads: "Pilates teacher Belle's neatly ordered life is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of her chaotic 15 year-old niece Maya.

"Heavily pregnant Hannah - who is happily coupled up with safe and stable Liam - has her plans upended by the return of Andy, with whom she had a passionate one-night stand nine months previously."

The BBC adds that "as each of the four stories unfold and intertwine in surprising ways, they tell a larger story about what happens when we step out of our personal space and take a closer look into other people's lives.

"Life explores love, loss, birth, death, the ordinary, the extraordinary and everything in between."

If Life has even a touch on Doctor Foster, we predict it'll be the TV talk of the year.
