Now we have a release date for the new series of Killing Eve, the countdown is officially on.

While we're waiting patiently for the next instalment, BBC has just dropped a brand new teaser clip starring Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh.

In the snippet, both leading actresses are dressed head-to-toe in red. Jodie, who plays assassin Villanelle, is wearing a floor-length, chiffon gown while Sandra, who plays MI6 agent Eve Polastri is in a dark red cut-out dress.

The 15-second clip gives fans a glimpse into what they might expect from Season 3, with psychopath Villanelle holding what appears to be some sort of scalpel.

In the eery shot, Villanelle can be seen running the sharp tool across her lips before staring directly into the camera. The clip then flashes between the two women before Villanelle can be seen holding up the scalpel. Terrifying.

In a previous Valentine's teaser clip shared last month, the words "Happy V Day" flashed on screen, accompanied by a creepy drop of blood.

Killing Eve fans have already been going wild over the clips with one commenting on Twitter: "Wow Wow Wow!!! OMG this is wicked! Thank you."

While another tweeted: "10 minutes and I've lost count of how many times I've seen it... so good thank you."

Other fans, however, have been growing impatient waiting for a Season 3 trailer. One person said "Killing Eve is coming back NEXT MONTH and still no trailer, HELLO."

It certainly seems BBC are keeping us in suspense. Last month, a first-look teaser was released as well as images which show Villanelle starting a new life for herself in Barcelona.

In the Season 2 finale, which aired in June last year, Villanelle appeared to shoot Eve dead - however in recently released behind-the-scenes photos, Eve was pictured alive and well, sitting on a bench outside London's Liverpool Street station. In further teaser images, we now see Eve has started up a new career as a chef.

As well as Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh, Fiona Shaw will return as Carolyn Martens, along with Konstantin (Kim Bodnia).

The BBC drama will arrive in the US on 26th April and is expected to drop in full on BBC iPlayer later this year.
