The Trixie Motel has officially opened its pink doors

Paradise has a name and it's called the Trixie Motel

A huge round of applause is in order for Trixie Mattel who has now officially opened the doors to the gorgeous Trixie Motel in Palm Springs. Watch the video below:

The stunning pink-themed Trixie Motel, named after the RuPaul’s Drag Race season seven star and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars winner, welcomed its first guests on Thursday (1 September).

Trixie has kept her legion of fans up to date with the creation of the motel on the series Trixie Motel on Discovery Plus and through the location’s official Instagram page.

Viewers will recall how Trixie and David purchased the Ruby Montana’s Coral Sands Inn for $2 million (£1,730,100) and added another $500,000 (£432,762.50) into the pot per the show to renovate the property and add Trixie’s own unique style.

Described as a ‘pink paradise in Palm Spring CA’, the Instagram page is filled with visually captivating and awe-inspiring rooms of the retro-themed getaway.

Trixie, real name Brian Michael Firkus, owns Trixie Motel with David Silver and the pair first thought of building a business together there after a trip to area in 2017.

When guests arrive in the lobby they are instantly transported into the wonderful world of one of drag’s most beloved characters. This lobby is unlike any other – adorned with delicious salmon pink-coloured furniture, chairs and quirky amenities.

The Trixie Motel official website describes each of the seven custom themed rooms, including the three suites, three queen rooms and the honeymoon suite.

Serving the whimsical cartoon quality of a vintage Barbie Dreamhouse, the rooms each evoke a unique personality through splendid décor, furniture and colours. Even the names of the rooms are spectacular. Behold the Atomic Bombshell, Flower Power Suite, Malibu Barbara, Pink Flamingo Suite, Queen of Hearts, Yeehaw Cowgirl Suite and the Oh Honeymoon Suite.

Each room has a painted mural on the wall and gorgeous wallpapers.

The fun doesn’t end there. Guests can also treat themselves to a dip in the Trixie Motel pool, surrounded by palm trees and white sun loungers and matching parasols.

There are even pink floaties which will be highly appreciated during the soaring heat in the desert resort city of Palm Springs.

Trixie Mattel is known for her exaggerated makeup, high-camp aesthetic and her unique comedy. Her drag surname was inspired by her love of Mattel Barbie dolls.

In 2015, Trixie was announced as one of the contestants in RuPaul’s Drag Race where she was first eliminated in the fourth episode.

She had her first redemption arc when she re-entered the competition in the eighth episode by winning the 'Conjoined Twins' challenge alongside Pearl Liaison although she was eliminated once again in episode 10 in sixth place.
