Sally Field has been praised for embracing the process of ageing naturally by steering away from having work done.

I mean, it is kind of hard to believe that the Mrs. Doubtfire star is 76, given how the 1993 film was a huge part of our childhood.

Then again, her age also highlights how far ago our childhoods were.

Right, I'm going to park my 'mid-life crisis' there and stay on topic.

In a bid to look younger, Hollywood stars often turn to plastic surgery and it can be quite noticeable on some.

Despite noticing her age on-screen, the 76-year-old believes that those who turn to surgery in their later years are 'terribly disrespectful to who they are now'.

"I see myself on TV and I say, 'Oh, I wish that weren't happening to my neck. And your face is falling down, and your eyes are so puffy'," she told Good Housekeeping back in 2009.

"But then I see some of the women (who have had plastic surgery) who I thought when they were younger were so beautiful.

"Now I think, Oh, dear, don’t do that! And it seems to be terribly disrespectful to who they are now."

More recently, Sally said that had come to terms with her imperfections.

"I'm an old woman, 70 is old, and that's OK," she confessed to NPR in 2019.

"I've gathered strength behind my years, I owned them, I've earned them, I've deserved them, I have a right to have them.

"And I don't like my neck, I don't like a lot of things but it's OK."

Sally previously revealed that she suffers from osteoporosis, which affects bone density and bone mass.

And she's reportedly received negative comments for her appearance on social media, however, her fans are sticking by her and have admired her natural look.

Commenting on a selfie she took in 2021, one fan said: "You are not old and neither do you look old. You look wonderful.

"Thank you for all the smiles you have brought to our faces over the years. You are indeed a great lady," another added.

"Looking good don’t pay attention to those who say different. Bet they don't look as good as you.

"Beautiful! Have always admire you. I too have decided to leave my grey hair and whatever wrinkles show. Am going on 58 and proudly to naturally age. God bless you!" someone else said.
