Timothée Chalamet has received an avalanche of praise for one of his films from years back that 'messed people up' for weeks.

Now, as we know, Chalamet has a seriously impressive portfolio of work after starring in a number of box-office smash-hits including; Call Me By Your Name, Ladybird, Wonka, Dune, Little Women and A Complete Unknown just to name a handful.

However, there's one lesser-known film of his which first hit cinemas in 2018 which has clearly stood the test of time all these years later.

Directed by Felix Van Groeningen, the film in question featured a star-studded cast with the likes of Steve Carell, Maura Tierney and Amy Ryan all making appearances throughout.

Based on the memoirs Beautiful Boy: A Father's Journey Through His Son's Addiction by David Sheff and Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines by Nic Sheff, the flick is none other than Beautiful Boy.

The plot follows the father-son duo, Carrell and Chalamet, whose relationship becomes increasingly strained by the latter's drug addiction.

While it may a few years old, Beautiful Boy is still tugging on the heartstrings of viewers with many taking to social media to share their review of the film.

"Timothée was amazing in this movie," applauded a second, while a third similarly praised: "The best role of Timothée. He is so sensitive and pure in this movie and of course Steve Carell is gorgeous!"

"Such a heartbreaking movie," reviewed a fourth.

A fifth penned: "Still don’t understand why this movie didn’t cop a few Oscar nominations, at the very least for Steve and Timothée."

"I would rate this film a 10. This was the film that introduced me to Timothée Chalamet. I had to see more, so I watched Call Me By Your Name. He deserved Oscar nominations for BOTH roles!" echoed someone else.
