Jennifer Aniston admits her personal relationship with David Schwimmer 'played out' on Friends set

Jennifer Aniston admits her personal relationship with David Schwimmer 'played out' on Friends set

In 2021 the pair confessed they used to have a mutual crush on each other and now Jennifer has shared even more details

Jennifer Aniston has opened up about how her personal relationship with David Schwimmer ‘played out’ on the Friends set - and it's incredibly juicy.

The 54-year-old actor has been candid in the past about her romantic feelings for her co-star David, 56, during the first season of the hit sitcom.

As it turns out, the feelings were reciprocated as the pair, who portrayed on-screen lovers Rachel and Ross, found themselves in the centre of a very real will-they-won’t-they situation.

This was confirmed during the 2021 Friends: The Reunion special in which the Madagascar star said they had a mutual crush on each other.

“The first season I had a major crush on Jen,” David said in front of the rest of the ensemble; Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc.

“I think we both, at some point, were crushing hard on each other.”

Despite their mutual feelings, they didn’t pursue a relationship off-screen.

“It was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship, and we never crossed that boundary,” he shared, as the hearts of Friends fans across the globe shattered.

One month later, the Murder Mystery 2 star said that she and David couldn’t be together IRL because it was ‘never the right time’.

“We were in relationships, it was always never the right time, and it wouldn’t have worked,” Jennifer told Howard Stern.

During a recent interview, the rom-com queen sat down with Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest to chat about all things David Schwimmer.

When Live with Kelly and Ryan host Kelly said: “You and David had a crush on each other,” Jennifer replied: “Yes, we did.”

Although crushes can be quite an awkward topic for everyone involved, the actor happily shared more details.

“We just let it play out on TV,” she told the audience, later confirming that the pair's first kiss was the one which aired on the show.

That being said, Jennifer did seem a bit flustered when asked if the smooch felt ‘weird’ to which she said: “Well… it was quite enjoyable actually.”

The pair have joked around about their former crushes on each other since the reunion aired almost two years ago.

In September last year, Jennifer posted a photo of herself washing her hair in the shower, captioning it: "Something's coming 9.8.22."

David decided to join on the fun in the best way by recreating Jen's steamy shower photo.

Covering his entire face in suds and pouting for the camera, he stood topless in his own shower and tagged his former co-star in the caption, writing: "@JenniferAniston - a towel I hope??"

Jennifer's post was actually promotion for her haircare brand Lolavie.

It’s impossible not to love them!
