Hailey Bieber has set the record straight once and for all on her and her husband Justin Bieber’s relationship timeline.
The lovebirds got engaged back in 2018, the same year that Justin rekindled his romance with Selena Gomez, leading many to speculate there may have been a crossover.
But Hailey has shut down rumours she and Justin were romantically involved while he was still with Selena.

Hailey and Justin tied the knot in September 2019, just over a year after getting engaged.
Just six months before Justin popped the question, he and Selena had been seen spending time together, and in February 2018 she even attended Justin’s dad’s wedding in Jamaica.
A month later, Selena seemingly confirmed her and Justin were back on, dedicating an Instagram post to the Baby hit-maker on his birthday.
Appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast this week, Hailey insisted Justin and Selena were over by the time she hooked up with him and added that ending his and Selena’s relationship was ‘the most healthy, mature decision he could make’.

Hailey clarified: “When he and I ever started hooking up or anything of that sort, he was not ever in a relationship, ever, at any point.”
She added: “It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship I would just never do that, I was raised better than that. I’m not interested in doing that and I never was.”
Hailey then emphasised: “I can say, period, point blank, I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody, that’s the end of it.”

The model also touched upon her and Justin’s relationship timeline, admitting she can ‘understand how it looked from the outside’.
Hailey continued: “The timeline also that sometimes is in question, is of us getting together and us getting engaged and him having spending time with his ex before that.”
“I understand how it looked from the outside and there’s a lot of perception there, but that was a situation where I know for a fact that it was the right thing for them to close that door,” she said, referring to Justin and Selena’s relationship ending.
“They were not in a relationship at that time but of course, there’s a very long history there.”

As for Justin having made a ‘healthy’ decision in parting ways with Selena, Hailey said: “I think it was the best thing that could have happened for him, to move on and be engaged and get married and move on with his life in that way. It was the most healthy, mature decision that he could have made.”
