Chrissy Teigen left 'spiralling' after DNA test showed she had a long lost identical twin
She took a DNA test which told her there was an identical twin somewhere out there
Chrissy Teigen was recently left 'spiralling' after taking a DNA test and being told that somewhere out there was her identical twin.
She took to her Instagram account to tell the tale of her journey of familial discovery which had left her thinking there must be some other family member out there she could connect with.
Teigen told her fans she'd had an 'insane' 24 hour period thanks to the news of a potential long lost twin.

She said: "With the encouragement of my therapist and doctor I did 23 & Me, which actually I had done a few years ago but I had never done a more deep dive, I had just done a heritage thing."
"I paid for some of the upgrades and the first thing that came up after I found out I was part Neanderthal was this, I have an identical twin," Teigen explained, showing information which told her there was an identical twin somewhere out there.
Teigen was 'spiralling' at this point and got in contact with 23 & Me to ask what was going on and texted her doctor about it, while she also decided to ask an eyewitness to her birth if there had been another baby.
She called her dad to ask that question every father wants to hear from their child: "Did you see me come out of mom's vagina and were there two of me?"
The mystery only deepened as her dad said he'd been there for the birth and there definitely hadn't been an identical twin born at the same time as Teigen.
She decided to keep asking around the family, next going to her sister to ask about the chances of an identical twin and got a big gasp in response.
Teigen thought this was confirmation that she had a twin after all, believing her missing twin was why she felt so 'co-dependent' and felt as though she had a piece missing all her life.
Her sister soon set her right, reminding her that she'd done a DNA test for a show which never aired and had the results under secret names.
While the show never got on TV that did mean that there was a record of Teigen's DNA on file under a different name, leading her to realise that she was 'matching myself' with the old test results under someone else's name.
There you go, mystery solved, Chrissy Teigen was her own identical twin all along.
