There's lots to love about cats, including their mysterious demeanors, friendliness and spontaneity. However, cat fanatics on TikTok had quite the shock after seeing a cat's paw without fur.
The Sphynx is a breed of cat widely known for its lack of fur, and one TikToker shared a close-up shot of what appears to be a Sphynx's extended paw - and it's shocking.

TikToker @Chantellefen posted her snap reaction to seeing a Sphynx paw alongside the shocking picture. “I just found out what cats paws look like without fur and I can’t stop thinking about it,” she said in the caption.

And judging by the reactions, it seems lots of people will be having nightmares.
“I’m gonna pretend I didn’t see this,” wrote one TikTok user in the comments after seeing the picture.
One commenter replied: “I’m just gonna delete that from my brain browser.”
Another person wrote: “Ur paying for my therapy now,” to which @chantelleef quipped: “I’ll pay in full. My apologies.”

While a third joked: “I won’t sleep tonight.”
Elsewhere in the comments, proud Sphynx owners brushed off everyone else’s horror. “Sphynx cat owners already knew,” wrote one cat owner.
While another Sphynx fantastic, who owns three of the unique breed, defended them, writing: “They are very cute and most of them have kind of a weird personality.”
There are particular breeding standards outlined by The International Cat Association (TICA) for Sphynx cats. This includes paw pads that are thicker than other cat breeds, giving the appearance of walking on cushions. Their skin should also have the texture of chamois leather.

Sphynx cats are known for being extroverts and display lots of energy, intelligence and curiosity and affection. Some Sphynx owners have given the cats the reputation of being “dog-like” because they frequently greet their owners at the door and are extremely friendly with strangers.
Sphynx cats are definitely unique!
