The UK heatwave isn't going anywhere fast, and women may be feeling the heat more than men.
As though we don't have enough contend with, a doctor has confirmed that women tend to have a higher body fat percentage, which means we're already predisposed to suffer more under hot temperatures.
Amid the challenging weather, Dr Barbara Kubricka, explains: "Body differences may play a role. Women naturally tend to have a higher body fat percentage than men, which can make it harder for the body to cool down.
"Some women may also sweat differently or notice they feel overheated more quickly."

According to Dr Kubicka, it's not your imagination if you're feeling hotter than the lads in your office, as hormone changes during your period or pregnancy can also affect how the body handles temperature.

"Women can sometimes feel the heat more than men, and hormones may be another reason why," she explains.
"During certain parts of the menstrual cycle, levels of the hormone progesterone rise, which can slightly increase body temperature. This may leave some women feeling hotter than usual, more uncomfortable in warm weather, or more sensitive to heat."
Clinical Lead Doctor Ghazala Aziz-Scott at the Marion Gluck Clinic adds: "Hormonal fluctuations play a part in women feeling hotter during the heatwave than men, as progesterone rises during the luteal phase, causing core body temperature to go up by 0.5C.

"Women at the midlife perimenopausal or menopausal transition also have poor temperature regulation and can be prone to hot flushes."
For those of you unfamiliar with the different stages of your period, the luteal phase is the second half of the menstrual cycle, occurring after ovulation and lasting until the next period begins. It typically lasts between 12 to 14 days.
It's important to note that not all women will be impacted by the heatwave in the same way. Make sure to seek advice from your GP if you're concerned.
How to stay cool during the heatwave on your period
As though the hot weather isn't enough to contend with, your period can make things even more uncomfortable.
Dr Kubicka recommends staying hydrated with cold drinks, light clothing and cool showers to freshen up.
You can even try putting your socks in the fridge before bed or popping your hot water bottle in the freezer to keep cool at night.
"Listening to your body is key, especially if hormonal changes are making you feel warmer than usual," she emphasises.
