Debbie and Peter, who live in Los Angeles and New York respectively, have been best pals for 20 years.

During a video chat where Debbie wishes her BFF a happy birthday, they recount the night they met.

“Never stops being weird,” Peter says, as we learn they hooked up two decades ago. Luckily they were able to forge a friendship as their lives moved in different directions.

Peter lives a bachelor lifestyle and works in New York and Debbie is a busy single mum in LA, who is need of a break. Peter suggests they do a switcheroo and swap lives and homes for a little while, kinda like The Holiday.

During the switch, Debbie and Peter have a chance to get to know each other all over again, this time through their friends and family.

This makes them question whether they’ve had a spark all along. But is it too late?! Will Peter confess his feelings before Debbie starts a relationship with her new beau Theo (played by Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams)?

You won't have to wait long to find out!

The wait will definitely be worth it, since Your Place or Mine is written by Aline Brosh McKenna, who also wrote The Devil Wears Prada and 27 Dresses, so you just know it's going to be good. The new Netflix film also marks her directorial debut.

Reese, Ashton and Jesse are joined by Tig Notaro, Zoë Chao, Rachel Bloom, Steve Zahn and Wesley Kimmel.

Reese served double-duty by producing the film, through her own media company, Hello Sunshine.

The production company is behind the acclaimed series Big Little Lies, The Morning Show, Little Fires Everywhere and Truth Be Told and the films Gone Girl, Wild and Where the Crawdads Sing.

Speaking in 2020 about working with Reese on her directorial debut, Aline said in a statement: "I'm the hugest Reese Witherspoon fan on earth, not just of her immense talents as an actor but also her producing skills.

"I couldn't be more excited to direct this movie for Netflix, working alongside Aggregate and Hello Sunshine".

Reese is also working with Netflix on a second rom-com named The Cactus.

Based on Sarah Haywood's best selling novel of the same name, the story will follow a woman who rethinks her life after an unplanned pregnancy at the age of 45.

Your Place or Mine will be released on 10 February on Netflix.
