Tommy Shelby Will Feature In Peaky Blinders Movie, Creator Says

The reign of Tommy Shelby continues.

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has just made our day after sharing that Tommy Shelby will make an appearance in a future Peaky movie!

Ahead of the highly anticipated sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders, Steven gave fans a hint at what they can expect from films, spin-offs, and beyond.

So, if you were sad about your favourite BBC series coming to an end, then fear not - there's plenty more Shelby drama to go around!

Not much is known about the premise of the film as of yet, including who the story will follow or when exactly it will be set, but the creator was happy to share some minor details with fans.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Steven hinted that, not only Tommy, but his brother Arthur would make an appearance in a Peaky film.

Asked whether either of the brothers would exist in a world outside of the original series, Steven coyly said: "It's impossible to say yet. But the film – yes."

Eep! We're thrilled!

He continued: "We're going to make a film - a feature film - which will move the world on, and then once we've moved the world on into the Second World, we'll see where that takes us.

"It's now a situation where the world… you know, around the world, the Peaky world, it's got so much energy, and so much following, and such a huge fanbase, that you think: 'Well, let's just carry on.' So we do."

On further casting and characters, Steven remained rather tight-lipped.

He said: "There are so many people, so many great actors, that we are already, sort of, in conversation with for the film, and for whatever follows.

"But I think what we want to do is keep surprising people, and keep breaking new talent. Because it's all out there, and there is a sort of consistency - what we're doing is finding really good actors from a working-class sort of background, and telling that story. That's what we're trying to do."

Okay, now we're really excited!

But before we get ahead of ourselves, the sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders will officially hit our television screens on 27th February.

Season six will pick up directly after the fifth season, in which we saw the shock return of Alfie Solomons (Tom Hardy) and Tommy left with a gun to his head following his failed assassination of Oswald Moseley.

We can't wait to get stuck back into the world of the Peaky Blinders!

Peaky Blinders season six will premiere on BBC One at 9pm on Sunday, 27th February.
