Things went horribly wrong for one couple on Channel 4's new series Open House: The Great Sex Experiment when they decided to try out a threesome for the first time.
The spicy six-part series invites committed couples to visit a luxury retreat in a swanky mansion to experiment with opening up their relationships. But when one young couple struggled to make it work, viewers were worried that there was some gaslighting at play.

Happy couple Nathan and Mady joined the show in the hopes of spicing up their sex life, but almost ended up splitting when a steamy threesome didn't go according to plan.

After getting to know single girl Precious at the mansion, the couple were eager to invite her to their bedroom.
Speaking before they got down to business, a very eager Nathan told cameras: "It's going to be so good, more women, more pleasure."
But Nathan was left bitterly disappointed when Mady and Precious got it on while he struggled to... ahem... perform.
Mady, however, seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed the experience, telling Precious at one point: "It's a shame we can't go off and leave him to sleep."

Furious that the experiment hadn't gone to plan, Nathan left Mady in tears when he told her: "You've made my first experience a bad one. You purposely made me feel like a spare part. Your biggest fear about being the odd one out, you've put that on to me."
Not only was Nathan unhappy with the experience, but viewers at home were pretty peeved, too. Many were furious with him for 'gaslighting' Mady when things didn't go his way.

"‘I deserve better’ ?? Mate if you didn’t wanna be there you should’ve said. But gaslighting her because she had the better time 🚩👀#openhouse" wrote a second.
"This grown man gaslighting the hell out of this girl #OpenHouse" commented a third concerned fan.
And a fourth said "I’m all for jokes but Nathan man don’t go emotionally abusing the girl because you couldn’t get it up FFS #openhouse."

A fifth viewer noted: "Nathan is hacked off because they didn't centre him. Think he thought he was going to have them both crawling all over him".

Eventually, the couple managed to work things out with the help of relationship expert Dr Lori, and decided to give it another go with another girl named Grace.
This time around, Nathan got all the attention he had been hoping for and was absolutely chuffed with himself. He and Mady left the resort hand in hand, ready to open their relationship.
