Married At First Sight UK star, Marilyse Corrigan has claimed that fans didn't get to see the full Franky Spencer on the E4 dating show.
The ex army-man came under fire for being "controlling" of Marilyse throughout their time on the show, receiving heat from both the public and the experts as a result.
But Marilyse says that editing was to blame for how Franky came across.

Speaking to OK! Online, she said: "He wasn't as bad as what he seemed, not at all."
Discussing how she felt when she saw public reaction to Franky, Marilyse said: "I was really shocked, I just felt like I was missing something because I did not feel like that during the filming.
"But when it came out into the public and they were saying, 'Oh my gosh, he's controlling' - I got a lot of messages from women who have obviously experienced an ex-partner that's been like this.

"Do you know what, I didn't see it at the time and I still don't think he was controlling - but obviously that how he's been made to look and it's sad really because he's a nice person.
"He's got a heart of gold. I would just say he's not controlling, he's just protective."
Marilyse went on to suggest that the show's editing highlighted the "worst parts" of him, rather than his "really nice" side.
She added that she felt it was a "shame" so many positive aspects of their relationship hadn't made the cut.

Marilyse and Franky didn't always have an easy time on the show, with Marilyse having to call out her hubby on a couple of occasions for the way he spoke to her - in particular after he told her not to speak when he was during one of the dinner parties.
But they ultimately decided to stay together at the final vow renewal ceremony.

While the couple haven't spoken about how their relationship has gone since the show, a post on Insta from Franky seems to reveal they're still pretty strong.
In it, he posted some photos and videos of him and Marilyse alongside the caption: “Life after the experiment.”
"The pics represent some fundamentals you should know about Marilyse," he went on. "1. She is cool. 2. She is fit. 3. She has a certificate for being the best dog owner in Yorkshire. 4. SHE IS AN INCREDIBLE MOTHER AND DAUGHTER".

Marilyse also shared the post to her Instagram story and posted a photo of them before their vow renewals. She said: “We had such a stunning day that day…it was intense and emotional, but it finished perfectly.”
Of course, the couples still need to keep things under wraps until the reunion show, which airs on Monday 5th October.
Once that’s over, they can return to their day jobs and really settle into normal life together with their new partners. But more importantly, they’ll be free to spill the beans. We can’t wait!
