Married At First Sight UK Release Date Confirmed - And It's Just Days Away

This is not a drill, people.

Married At First Sight UK has confirmed its release date.

Yep, Tyla can reveal *exclusively* that the popular dating show - in which couples marry complete strangers in a bid for love - is back in a matter of days.

Just in time for the end of Love Island...

The hit series will move from Channel 4 to E4 this year for what's said to be the most "explosive" instalment of the UK version yet - inspired by the success of the Australian reality TV show.

Check out a trailer below:

And it's returning to screens on August 30th at 9pm. That's a mere 12 days away...eeeek!

Traditionally, the UK version of MAFS sees a maximum of four couples getting hitched and living alone in a flat as they figure out if they want to stay in or leave the marriage. The couples never meet each other and they are each asked once only if they're going to stay married or part ways.

But this year, the sixth UK series will adopt the format of the show used Down Under, offering up eight couples and showing them get married and then live in their own apartments for several weeks as they decide if they can go the distance.

The main difference is, the couples all meet on a regular basis at explosive dinner parties, to put each other's marriages under the microscope, and have to undergo commitment ceremonies to air their issues week on week.

Describing the revamped UK series, E4 said: "After the ceremony and celebrations are over, true love is well and truly put to the test, as they embark on a luxurious honeymoon, before moving in with each other AND their fellow couples.

"Relationships will be put under the microscope, by fellow brides and grooms at weekly dinner parties - as well as by the experts, at recurring commitment ceremonies, where couples choose whether they want to stay in or leave the process.

"All this and more will build to a dramatic series finale: glossy, high-stakes vow renewals, in which each couple must decide if they will recommit to their partner or go their separate ways."

The show recently confirmed its cast - although we don't yet know who is coupled up. Like the contestants, we won't find that out until they walk down the aisle.

There are plenty of big characters to explore in the new season, including a 47-year-old strength and conditioning coach from Dubai, looking for a "traditional" marriage, a 35-year-old sports journalist from Cornwall looking for someone who can handle her "sass", a 31-year-old veterinary nurse from Essex who wants a bit of "adventure" in her life, and a 26-year-old electrician from Doncaster, who is up for "being challenged and trying new things". We think he's on the right show for that!

On top of the turbo boosted bunch of contestants, this year, MAFS Australia OG Melanie Schilling has also been roped in to offer her expertise alongside Sex and Relationship Therapist, Charlene Douglas and series regular Paul C. Brunson (Celebs Go Dating).

Buckle up, reality TV fans, we think this is going to be epic.
