After days of a rumoured rift between TV's favourite besties, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are back on air.

The two have co-hosted This Morning ever since 2009, but lately whispers of a feud have had fans worrying that this could spell the end of their iconic partnership.

Viewers were relieved, then, when Phil and Holly returned to the studio this week.

After Phil appeared on This Morning last week, without Holly by his side, he admitted that the last few weeks 'haven't been easy'.

It came following allegations that he and Holly 'barely spoke' when the cameras weren't rolling, and that there had been issues between the two 'for some time'.

Phil had insisted that all was well between he and his co-star, telling The Sun: "As I have said before, Holly is my rock.

"We’re the best of friends — as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.

"Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her.

"The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us."

Holly never publicly commented on the reportedly frosty relationship, some eagle-eyed fans have noticed that Holly may have removed a reference to Phil from her Twitter bio.

It had previously read: "I was introduced to this by a 'Twitter legend'," which was believed to be a reference to Schofield.

It now simply reads: "Broadcaster, Founder of Wyldemoon, Brand ambassador for Marks & Spencer and Garnier, Author of Reflections."

One fan who spotted the amendment wondered: "Didn’t Holly’s twitter bio say something about being introduced to Twitter by ‘a legend’ (ie Phil), now it’s not there…#nosmokewithoutfire #thismorning."

This isn't the first time that rumours of a fallout between Phil and Holly have cast a shadow over This Morning.

ITV has previously defended the pair’s friendship when similar feud rumours spread back in 2019.

The broadcaster said at the time: "It's deeply disappointing and unfair for Phillip to be the target of this sort of malicious gossip.

"Phillip is a much-respected broadcaster and colleague and this is absolutely not a description of This Morning that we recognise.

"Holly and Phil are great friends both on and off screen and are popular among viewers and colleagues alike."

Holly also dispelled the rumours at the time, telling reporters at a press launch for Dancing On Ice: "You couldn’t do the amount of hours of TV that we do with each other without getting on."

It's good to see these two back on our screens again!
