Eagle-eyed fans spot Holly Willoughby has removed reference to Phillip Schofield from her Twitter

Eagle-eyed fans spot Holly Willoughby has removed reference to Phillip Schofield from her Twitter

Fans of This Morning noticed that Holly Willoughby has removed a reference to Phillip Schofield from her Twitter

Fans of TV presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have been quick to notice that Holly has removed a reference to Phil from her Twitter bio as their friendship appears to cool.

The pair have enjoyed a long public friendship and have hosted This Morning together since 2009 where they're known to frequently burst into giggles and turn up hungover after award shows, but rumours have been circulating recently that their relationship has become frosty.

One body language expert has claimed there were clear signs of tension between the two during yesterday's episode of the ITV show.

Judi James told The Sun: “The first few moments of the show looked toe-curling.

Phil was in jaunty overkill mode, looking super-perky and rather self-amused in a way that seemed to be served with a hint of sarcasm.”

She spoke of one moment during the show's intro that was 'very telling.'

She said: "When Holly described herself as getting ‘emotional’ at home, Phil stared at her before saying ‘I can’t believe that!’ in a sarcastic-sounding tone before looking straight back at the camera, parting his lips and baring his teeth.”

Phil tried to put the rumours to bed today (12 May) by releasing a statement describing Holly as his 'rock', though he admitted things 'hadn't been easy'.

In the statement to The Sun, he described Holly as his 'best friend' as he spoke about the ordeal his family had been through recently.

Last month, his brother Timothy was convicted of 11 sexual offences against a teenage boy over a period of three years.

Holly meanwhile recently came down with shingles and had to take some time away from our screens to recover.

Phil said: "As I have said before, Holly is my rock.

"We’re the best of friends - as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.

"Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her."

Now, Twitter users think they've spotted a clue that Holly is distancing herself from Phil.

Fans noticed that she no longer mentions Phil in her Twitter bio, which previously said: "I was introduced to this by a 'Twitter legend'," which was believed to be a reference to Scofe.

It now simply reads: "Broadcaster, Founder of Wyldemoon, Brand ambassador for Marks & Spencer and Garnier, Author of Reflections."

A number of fans have noted the change, taking to the site to express their opinions.

One wrote: "Didn’t Holly’s twitter bio say something about being introduced to Twitter by ‘a legend’ (ie Phil), now it’s not there…#nosmokewithoutfire #thismorning"
