Remember when ASDA brought out that iridescent rainbow cutlery set last year and everyone all over the country went wild? You know, that incredible multi-coloured set of teaspoons, forks, knives and tablespoons? We're still eating our dinner with them every night.

Well, ladies, ASDA has gone and done it again with the launch of a new George Home silver mermaid cutlery set that looks set to delegate our old utensils to the back of the drawer because it is just so damn cute.

Made from stainless steel, the 16-piece set comprises four knives, four forks, four dessert spoons and four teaspoons that all have handles designed to resemble a mermaid's tail. And all it will cost you is £12.

Amazing, right? Just imagine eating your fish and chips with these.

Everyone has been going wild for the jazzy utensils and we imagine they are going to sell out soon so you better get a move on. They've already racked up 20 five-star reviews on the website, and with 21 reviews in total, that's a pretty mean feat.

"Bought for my daughter's mermaid party, she absolutely loved it," said one happy shopper, while another said: "Very pretty and strong. My children love using these at dinner time, they were very good value for money and look good in my mermaid-themed kitchen."

This customer was exceptionally happy, saying: "I bought one set of these on a whim, I didn't expect them to be very good as they were quite cheap but wow they are fantastic! They are a good weight and feel nice to hold. The knives are surprisingly sharp for dinner knives and the spoons are a good size. My children love them! The detail in the handle is beautiful and doesn't feel cheap. We liked them so much we bought a second set!"

"These are the single most amazing thing I have ever owned. The knives are sharp, the cutlery is heavy and well made and the design is just incrrrrrredible!!!!" said another.

It's not the first time ASDA has released magical mermaid accessories - earlier this year shoppers fell in love with its range of shell-shaped teapots and butter dishes, scaled mugs and quirky dinnerware. Looks like this new utensils set could be the perfect addition to the collection!
