Brits are raving about a high-tech pillow that they say is like laying your head ‘on the clouds’.

The Stratos pillow from British brand SIMBA is designed to feel like soft, fluffy bird down but is in fact made from recycled plastic bottles which create a surprisingly springy base to lay your head on.

Sweaty sleepers rave about its temperature-controlling properties which help to dissipate excess heat; working much like a thermostat, it covers just one side of the pillow.

The technology is called Stratos (in fact, the pillow takes its name from it) and is inspired by the science that helps to keep astronauts cool when they’re in space.

So what are people saying about the extra-fluffy, cotton-encased pillow? Boasting over 4,700 five-star reviews on the SIMBA website alone it’s been called ‘heavenly’ by customers with many reporting it’s helped with neck and shoulder pain.

Another shopper raved: “They are next level, so squidgy, soft and supportive. Nice amount of filling, not too overstuffed like some of the cheaper pillows.”

"I've tried many pillows over the years, but not one comes close to these," one wrote. "Light, airy, supportive and you never wake up with head sweat... definitely the best I've used so far."

One reviewer went as far as saying he 'never knew sleep could be this good', writing: "I’ve suffered from poor sleep for years, waking up and not feeling comfortable no matter which way I’ve turned. I’ve tried other ‘revolutionary’ pillows in the past and thought the memory foam variants were as good as they got, how wrong I was! Since I’ve had my SIMBA pillow, the days of tossing and turning and trying to find the right position are truly over, I’m sleeping soundly and wake up refreshed. I’m so pleased I took the plunge with my SIMBA, have been telling anyone and everyone since how they need to upgrade their sleeping habits too!"

At £60, it’s still an investment but is the cheapest model in SIMBA’s award-winning range, with the one up coming in at £109 or £159 for the Hybrid Firm.

SIMBA is also the brand behind the famous Hybrid Original Mattress, renowned for its ‘game-changing’ spring technology which is designed to boost body alignment and pressure relief. With nine support zones and five layers, its medium firm foam base mirrors the body’s movements to provide support where necessary - especially in larger areas such as the hips and shoulders.

It’s packed with 1,900 micro springs too.

A recent study showed just how closely poor sleep is linked with poor health; with people more at risk of developing conditions such as cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis if they're not catching enough winks at night.
