People divided over ‘ugliest shoe to ever exist’ after spotting heel version of Crocs

Crocs will always divide people, but a new version with a heel has caused even more outrage online.

Crocs are undoubtedly the most polarising footwear items ever made. But despite the backlash, the shoes have a lot of support and wearers and as a result, an impassioned crocs fanbase has risen.

After debuting back in 2002, the shoes have now found themselves in a fashion debate once again after the debut of a version of Crocs with heels.

The new shoes, named the Creel, have become a huge talking point on social media and after having a look at them, it’s no surprise as to why.

In a video shared on the official Crocs TikTok account, a woman can be seen modelling her new eggplant-coloured creels. She paired the unusual clog-inspired shoes with a purple top and dark teal parachute pants.

She looks absolutely thrilled with her new shoes and she actually films herself jumping up and down while wearing them.

The ‘Siren Clog’ seen here in the video is priced from £69.99. They feature a 3.6-inch heel and a moulded TPU heel cup and an eye-catching and sleek look.

Crocs also come with ventilation ports, to give your feet good air circulation and breathability and to help shed water and debris.

Creels have taken TikTok by storm.

The caption for the video, which has racked up three million views and hundreds of comments in just five days, reads: “When are you adding the Creels to your cart?"

It seems some people still need convincing.

“OMG noooo,” one disappointed TikTok user wrote.

Similarly, another person complained: “Ooo God why????” while a third person simply said: “Nooo!”

A fourth shared: “Someone was wearing these on my vacation recently. As they walked away from the pool, all I could think of was Squidward.”

Despite the backlash, the Creels have won over a fair few people.

“Almost as cool as my flamingo crocs,” one Crocs fan mused.

“I’m a Crocs user… love it,” someone else reacted to the Creels, while another wrote: “OMG Crocs! I badly need that."

Yay or Nay?

Just a few months ago, Crocs were at the centre of a debate about whether they are appropriate footwear for a wedding.

As Crocs wears already know, the shoes are customisable and owners can bedazzle their pair with gems and other charms. This can even include special bridal-themed accessories if that’s what your heart desires.

Crocs for bridesmaids have also become a TikTok trend, which has left some people literally disgusted at the thought of it.

In a now-viral post shared in the 'Wedding Ideas' Facebook group, the admin asked: “Wedding crocs? Yes or No?!”

The admin also posted a photo of bridesmaids who were all wearing the same plum-coloured gowns. But one quick glance at their feet revealed, to the horror of some Facebook users, that they were all wearing purple Crocs.

A heated debate erupted in the comments between passionate Crocs fans and those who couldn’t think of anything worse to wear to a wedding.
