A bride has left her guests furious after declaring that only water will be be served at her wedding.

You'll all know that following a wedding, a boozy reception will follow where the happy couple have a glass or two to celebrate their big day.

Obviously, some couples may not drink, but there is usually a bar of some kind at the reception for those who do want a few pints, even if the newly weds are not joining in.

But this one bride has different ideas, as she explained how there will be no alcohol whatsoever on her big day and that the drinking choice would be very limited.

Taking to the AmItheA**hole Reddit forum in recent days, the anonymous bride explained her plan.

She started off by saying that she is marrying her partner later this year, with between 100 and 150 expected to be in attendance.

The bride said that her grandmother is helping pay for the wedding and that kids will also be in attendance.

She said: "We have a lot of kids in our family so we decided against making it child-free but we did decide to make it dry. So there will be no alcohol of any kind at our wedding.

"Honestly, this doesn't have anything to do with there being kids there but due to the fact that my fiancé and I don't drink. Nothing against people who do, it's just not for us and we don't want to."

The woman then went on to say that she and her partner only really drink water, and barely touch any fizzy drinks or coffee.

She continued: "So obviously the food (which is a part my grandma is not paying for) is going to be expensive for that many people.

"We are having our wedding catered so everyone will have a good choice of food to choose from but to drink only water will be provided.

"We don't want to have to pay for alcohol or soda, it is just an large added expense when we can just do filtered water for a MUCH cheaper cost."

The wedding is set to be different from the traditional.

Well, it is safe to say that those invited did not take it too kindly when they were told there would be no drinking options at the wedding.

The woman claims that it led to some being 'upset', while others apparently commented on how the wedding would be boring.

On Reddit, many flocked to the comment section to give their opinion, and it is fair to say that the majority think the woman is in the wrong.

"The wedding is for everyone you’ve invited, it’s an event you’re hosting, and not providing any drinks other than water makes you a bad host/hostess," one user wrote.

And a second added: "I don't have anything against dry weddings but surely you can offer something other than just water."
