X, formerly Twitter, is currently down for users worldwide.

As of 14:25 GMT today (13 January), over 7,000 X user reports suggested that the website is experiencing intermittent issues, particularly around loading the homepage.

The mobile app is experiencing similar issues.

It's not yet clear if the problem is localised, however, it has been flagged in both the UK and the US.

There was a similar outage back in November of last year.

"Cloudflare, a major cloud and network service provider, reported an outage early on Tuesday, No. 18. The outage left many websites and platforms like X, formerly Twitter, without service for several hours," the Asbury Park Press wrote at the time.

Cloudflare issued a statement during the November outage, revealing it didn’t know the direct cause of the issue.

"We do not yet know the cause of the spike in unusual traffic. We are all hands on deck to make sure all traffic is served without errors," the company said.
